Shanghai Proton and Heavy Ion Center is the first medical institution in China with both proton and heavy ion treatment capabilities, at the international forefront in precision radiotherapy of tumors, bringing new treatment options for patients with various tumors.

Technical principles

Proton and heavy ion therapy uses charged particle beams to release energy concentrated at the tumor site, forming a Bragg peak that can deliver high-dose irradiation to the tumor while better protecting surrounding normal tissue and reducing side effects.

Applicable diseases

The center is mainly suitable for head and neck tumors, prostate cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, bone and soft tissue sarcomas and other tumors that are insensitive to conventional radiotherapy or have complex locations, showing obvious advantages in specific diseases.

Services for international patients

The center can treat international patients, first evaluating medical records and imaging data through remote consultation, and arranging treatment in Shanghai after confirming indications.

MedBridge services

MedBridge can connect international patients with the Proton and Heavy Ion Center, providing remote consultation, booking, interpretation accompaniment and follow-up support.
